For Sale - beautiful and rare Edison Class SM phonograph of 1897.
This is a fine example of the first of the truly successful Edison phonographs that were designed for the domestic market. It evolved from the brilliant Class M electric phonograph and is equipped with the strong Triton triple spring motor.
This design morphed into the much more common but brilliant Edison Triumph which continued to be manufactured up to 1914.
This stunning machine has been stripped, cleaned and serviced by Yesterday Once Again in Sydney. It has been dealer upgraded some time after 1908 to play the newer 4-minute records and it does so beautifully.
It comes complete with both the 4-minute Model H reproducer and the 2-minute Model C reproducer and a dozen appropriate records.

Steel Needles for 78RPM records
These are made in the USA and come in packets of 100. They are for all standard-type gramophones that play 78RPM shellac records. They are NOT for Edison records.
Note: steel needles are intended to wear: they are softer than the records and should be replaced after each record. Needles are still made but records are not. Reusing worn needles damage records.

“Trademark” Berliner Gramophone
Accurately made reproduction of the iconic “Dog Model” Berliner Gramophone. This is one of a batch made in Japan in the early 1980s and the only difference between this and an original is the use of Metric threads. The performance is just as pathetic as the original but the price is waaaaay lower. Litho of the equally iconic painting is included.

English-built “Robeyphone” from about 1920.
This unusual but pretty machine has matching transfer (on the front) and brass maker’s tag (on the top, behind the turntable") proudly telling the world that is was made by Chas T Robey Ltd and is the only one that I have seen in 42 years of repairing and restoring gramophones.
It is original down to the paint on the horn which may be a bit scratched but is very respectable. It has been stripped, cleaned and serviced, and comes with records and needles.AUD$1950
